Creative media spans a broad range of specialisms and purposes, from entertainment to education and information.  Before entering the industry, creative practitioners need to explore and refine different interrelated creative media practices in order to develop technical and communication skills and build confidence for producing outcomes to meet client needs or fulfil a purpose.

The aim of the BTEC Level Multi Media Production course is to provide you with this broad range of skills to prepare you for a career in one of many Creative Media industries.

You will explore ways of informing ideas, understand and develop solutions to creative challenges, acquire technical skills and develop professional practice and communication skills.

You will develop these underpinning skills practically through producing work, experimenting with a range of ideas and technical practices.  You will have the opportunity to bring them all together in response to a creative brief.
Entry Requirements
Minimum of 4 Level 2 qualifications at grade A*-C or equivalent.  Level 2 qualifications includes GCSEs, iGCSEs and Level 2 BTEC qualifications.  There is no requirement for students to have studied Multimedia Production at MYP or Level 2 before, however this is useful.

Assessment
All units will be internally assessed though investigative and project-based assignments, presentations, pitches and interviews.  All units are externally moderated by the examination board at the end of the course to confirm final qualification grades.

Units are individually graded as Pass, Merit and Distinction.  Distinction* can be awarded if enough points are gained across all units.

Future Pathways
Since all BTEC qualifications are grounded in vocational scenarios and opportunities they are a great pathway into the field of the creative media industries but also into tertiary education which in turn lead to any number of career pathways such as director of photography, sound mixer, casting director, producer, editor, marketing manager, copywriter, subtitler and translator, VFX producer, foley artist, animator and many many more.
